Solar company gives generously

Devon-based solar energy company EcoSystems SW Ltd has recently embarked on a long-term fundraising venture with CLIC Sargent.

The solar company will donate £100 to the charity for every solar panel installation carried out by the firm and EcoSystems anticipates donating around £10,000 during the first year.

The concept was the brainchild of John Greengrass, Operations Director for the firm, he explains "We were keen to find a way to offer long-term support and donating £100 per installation is our way of saying 'thank you' to all of the wonderful staff."

Regrettably John lost his niece to cancer. He says "CLIC Sargent offered care, support and advice whttp://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Inyourregion/SouthWestregion/Latestnews/Solarcompanygivesgenerously/main_content/tWjw/mediumhen we needed it most. It is a charity very close to my heart and we know first-hand how their support helps families when a child is affected by cancer."

EcoSystems SW Ltd is a supplier of PV (photovoltaic for those in the know) solar panels operating throughout Devon, Somerset & Cornwall.

Keen greens summon support for their cause

Keen greens summon support for their causeA green energy fair which showcased suppliers of sustainable products as well as locally produced food has been hailed a great success.

Hundreds of visitors attended the event at Uffculme School, Cullompton, on Saturday, which was organised by not-for-profit community group Sustainable Villages. During the day, a panel of local residents who have installed some of the energy-saving technologies on show shared their experiences. Guests were also able to view a series of short films about the energy crisis, as well as take part in some informative talks.

More than 20 companies from the region took part in the fair, which was officially opened by Tiverton and Honiton MP Neil Parish. Among the exhibitors was Matthew Stacey, of EcoSystems SW, who said: "The event was well attended, with excellent levels of interest and we look forward to supporting future events by the group." Sustainable Villages is run by volunteers and aims to promote all things to do with making and saving energy. Event organiser Peter Bowers said: "We would like to thank supporters - both from the business and local community -  for helping to make the event such a success."
